Calling it one hell of a deal, shocked league executives across the NBA are praising New Orleans Pelicans embattled general manager Dell Demps for pulling off one of the most unlikely trades in NBA history by acquiring three-time all-star DeMarcus Cousins without giving up much.

“I don’t know how he managed to get that deal; it’s a damn near miracle,” one general manager for an Eastern Conference team said.

Demps, who finalized a trade with the Sacramento Kings to bring Cousins to the Pelicans for three Subway coupons and some bits of string, has been on the hot seat for the last year and may have saved his job and the team’s season with the move.

When asked about the almost impossible trade that even the game NBA 2K17 says no way to, Demps remained coy.

“Sometimes, the pentagrams, uh, stars just align,” Demps said.
