Moments after announcing she won’t seek reelection as mayor, LaToya Cantrell reportedly hinted at her next move — Nancy Pelosi’s soon-to-be-empty seat in Congress, after Pelosi herself confirmed she will not seek reelection either.
Sources say Cantrell has been “prayerfully considering her next chapter,” reportedly eyeing Pelosi’s seat or at least the travel budget that comes with it.
Political insiders say the move makes sense: “She’s already mastered running things into the ground locally. It’s only natural she takes her talents to a national, maybe even global stage.”
After watching Pelosi enjoy decades of taxpayer-funded perks, prestige, and premium airfare, Cantrell reportedly said it’s the kind of long-term government lifestyle she’s been training for her whole career.
“Madam Cantrell has called New Orleans a great test run,” one aide said, allegedly. “Now she’s ready to bring her energy to Washington.”
Observers agree that when one door closes (under investigation), another opens (in D.C.).
