Surging New Orleans Pelicans lead the NBA in attendance

Don’t look now but the Big Easy just might soon be hanging a championship banner in the rafters of the Smoothie King Center thanks to coronavirus.

According to the Neutral Ground News sports reporter Izzy Allgood, the upstart New Orleans Pelicans lead the NBA (tied – 29) in home attendance since March 12th, averaging a whopping 0 fans per game.

On the bubble of making the NBA playoffs, the surging squad has its sights set on taking home 1/29th of the championship crown for league attendance.

If the 28-36 Pelicans continue to occupy the number one (t-29) spot, it will mark the first time in franchise history the team has had anything to gloat about other than getting the number one overall draft picks or the successes of former players.

The Pelicans have definitely kept their fans interested this year. The young, talented team led by rookie tree trunk Zion Williamson, All-Star stoner Brandon Ingram, All-Defensive magic hands man Jrue Holiday, and glaze-eyed trainwreck coach Alvin Gentry sits a mere 3.5 games back from the 8th and final playoff seed.

The squad looks to continue doing absolutely nothing for the next several months other than resting on these well-earned attendance champion laurels.
